The bill would
basically make radio stations in America pay a tax
everytime they play a song. First problem, they already
pay royalties. Secondly, this tax money would not be
used to improve roads or whatever where you live.
This "tax" money would go straight into the pockets
of record companies in other parts of the world.
Let me repeat that. The money goes over seas. This
would mean many radio stations would go belly up.
The Association of Broadcasters is stating it would
mean the end of the small "Mom & Pop" Stations.
News Flash! These little private operators are already
extinct. Major Domo corporations own all the radio
stations in my home town. The bill was co authored
by a congressman from Michigan with help from a
Vermont C.M. What are these tools thinking? What
lobby got them elected and has them by the cahoonies?
Michigan is on the verge of total meltdown failure and
elected chumps are wasting time on this tripe? You
Michi-maniacs need to wake up and get this clown out
of office. He is suppose to be working for you. How
does this help the unemployed in Michigan? It doesn't.
Now there is a web site you can go to but the trouble
there is all they are doing is collecting your name and
E mail address and selling it to others. So I urge you
to write your congressman and remind him who he works
for and tell him to vote NO on the radio performance tax.
DO NOT go to any radio stations web site that want you
to give up information that they will use for profit. Write,
Congress and stop this crap now. Thank you.
Lets ROCK!

rockcast
is against radio performance tax

1. Doug Fieger & Bruce Kulick - Dirty Girl
6. The Apers - Almost Summer
7. Calling me
by my first name she ask if I have been receiving my
daily paper. I tell her yes. Shen then calls me by my
first name again and states she sees I have not paid
my bill yet and when can she expect payment. I had
already paid the bill so I asked her since when did the
paper start harrassing the patrons about paying their
bill. She said it wasn't harrassment it was a courtesy
call. I then asked her how this was a courtesy to me.
Her reply was a question. "Sir , when can we expect
payment?" I laughed out loud and told her I was
going to double check to make sure it was payed. I
then thanked her for bringing the matter to my attention.
As I was hanging up I could hear her rattling on about
whatever. It's bad enough the paper is shrinking down
to nothing more than adds for department stores and
furniture. Now this horse drop. Being the only paper
in the fourth largest city in America I guess they figure
they got it dicked. Sell adds then get people to pay
you to see said adds, brilliant. That is not why I have
taken the paper for 3 decades. I can see the major
metropolitan newspaper going the way of the wagon
makers at the turn of the 20th Century. All that will
be left are the little private rags that give fanatics a
platform to push their political ideal upon you. The
ones that always end up as a pile of paper pulp at
the front of my drive way. I never subscribed but for
some reason they keep throwing a copy there every
week. Now a new one has appeared so there is now
2. What a waste of paper. Oh and I checked the bill
has been paid for 2 months. They had cashed the check
a full 7 days before. Bozo is definately driving that clown
car.

rockcast

1. The
support folk have been very supportive except for the
language barrier. We both speak English but you wouldn't
know it by listening to us trying to communicate. I get
caught up in the rhythmic cadence of his sing song delivery
and whatever he is saying goes right by my head. I am
constantly asking him to repeat himself. Of course it
doesn't help when I say things like "Don't butter my boots
and try to tell me they're biscuits." Which is Big AL-ese
for don't B.S. me. So until it is resolved and I have finished
with the artwork I hope it won't be much of a hassle for
you. The traditional
day of recovery after the most important professional
American football game of the season. Turned out to be
the most watched program in the history of television.
Not just sporting events. All TV. The old record holder,
the 1983 final episode of the comedy M.A.S.H. So a
record crowd was tuned in when what is left of the Who
took the stage for the halftime show. What I witnessed
was an awful shame. Obvious to me Roger Daltry did
not feel the need to warm up his voice. His upper register
has been weak for a number of years now and he was
painfully off on the notes. He was reduced to a chesty
shout out. Pete Townsend who is one of the most
influental guitarist of his and My Generation showed an
occasional flurry of licks but for the most part just tried
to do his now famous windmill arm motion. Looks like
the shoulder is kinda creaky these days Pete! After
about five minutes Daltrys voice began to come around.
Gee Roger couldn't take five before the set to get ready?
One critic called the performance "Like having someone
chew your food for you". I assume he was refering to the
fact it took 6 musicians to do what used to be kids play
for 4. Time to hang it up.

rockcast

1.Nightwing - Bye Bye Beautiful
2. A few months back there was cash for
clunkers program. Many Americans traded in their monster
SUV's for a certain Japanese import that has been in the news.
Critics claim the clunker program was a failure because it
was suppose to put cash back in the coffers of the Big 3 auto
makers in Detroit Mi. not in the pockets of foreign automakers.
Now many of these folks have to hassle with going to a dealer-
ship to have the problem fixed. Believe me it is a total hassle to
have to deal with car dealerships on any level. A friend [at the time
of the program] told me it would come back to bite us on the ass.
So is it poetic justice or just cruel irony that this would happen to
your new imported car after you snubbed the big 3's catalog of
automobiles? Nope just another pain in the arse bump in the road
of life. I see the CEO of said automaker on the tube saying his
company would work 24 - 7 to fix the problem. He said they
would not stop until it was fixed. Hmmm, not stop, that's the
problem from the get go. Poor choice of words on his part.

rockcast

1. No Bill Murray sightings. Guess
We'll be safe until spring. Actually I sat through the
film of the same name with my 12 year old. She was
totally amazed by the story of a jerk who has to relive
the same day over and over. The film is a totally quirky
adventure with some very hilarious scenes. Another cool
thing about having kids, getting to share funny films with
them. We laughed all through. Then when it was over
we noticed it was on again, and again and again after that.
We laughed some more. Happy Groundhog Day Bill.

rockcast

1. Tired of partisanship. Tired of all the bickering.
Man that is so me. I have gotten to the point where I am sick
of watching anything from America calling itself News. On a
local level maybe but for the Big Picture I look to the BBC.
Here in the U.S. they are to busy wondering when Paris is
going to do another sex tape with a chihuahua. Or if Gerard
Butler can still fit in his Spartan togs. The republicans [I purposely
left it uncapitalized] should be ashamed of themselves. The
State of the Union address is the task of the President of the
United States, not the task of the newly elected tool of a
governor of Virginia. I understand giving both sides of the story
but these talking heads push there own agenda and look for
people they can go into agreement with. You trying to tell me if
the republican candidate had been elected anything would be any
better? Horsesheet. One year ago the idiot-crisy was calling for
an end to GW Bush. Now they want to renew his tax cuts for the
wealthy that just months ago they were bitchin' about. People
need to get behind the man and his plan. If one more clown tells
me it's too ambitious I'll nail 'em. We are suppose to be ambitious.

rockcast

1. He has been in office for one
year so the "report cards" are coming in from the
talking heads to the pundits. 61% of people who voted
for him are not for him now. These peeps feel he let them
down. Didn't keep his campaign promises. Personally
when I hear a campaign promise I always say "sure,
like that's going to happen". I never believe any. I have
watched this happen since Nixon so I know of what I
speak. So if you thought it was just a matter of getting
him in office to get what you wanted think again. No
matter who is the President he gets all the problems that
already existed and more. To the 61% I can only say
give it time. Oh and you wanted change, well that's all
you have. In your pockets.

rockcast

1. In the last few months I noticed that there was at
times huge increases in listeners. Upon further investigation
it turns out the increase was coming from mainland China.
Turns out one address is passing it along to others in the
area. I have even been to the site but because I do not have
the correct Chinese fonts loaded I can't display the pages
properly. I don't speak Chinese or read it so it would be
useless. So when I see one visit downloaded 25 gigs I
know somethings rotten. I also keep track of how many
attempted hacks on Rockcast itself. Since 2010 started, a
grand total of attempts, 2,283! By far the vast majority can
be traced back to,... you know where. So excuse me if I
tend to believe what I am reading here.

rockcast

1. Adding new
equipment to the studio is always a fun time for yours
truly. Plus every year after the holidays the Studio is
always trashed. So it is an optimum time to 'upgrade".
New microphone cables should go a long way. If you
are wondering I use Marshal MXL mics. Plus for
instruments I use Sennheiser mics. Also Qsc Amps.
Makie mixers. Technic Pro turntable. Akai, Teac &
Pioneer open reel tape decks. Plus JVC dual cassette
deck. Marantz, Maganavox, Vector Research &
Sharp CD decks are also in the rack although rarely
do I use these now. Open reel players are great for
restoring old 1/4 inch reel tapes. Restore than make
a CD copy to play. Works great. Enough kibitzing,
give the set a listen while I rewire these monitors.

rockcast

1. Ouch! These
comments were overheard by the Author as Reid was
talking to another. Now from the same book comes
word that former President Slick Willie Clinton made
an on the side comment about how it was funny that
President was elected. According to the book Bill
said some thing about ten years ago Obama would
have been serving him coffee. When I first read the
quote I took it as the then unknown Obama would
of been low man on the totem pole. Everybody in
the office knows the Newbie makes and gets the
coffee. Then I turn on the tube and see the idiots
on the psuedo news channels yelling RACISM!
If Barry O was a white guy this would have
never been an issue. Just pure hateful bile spewing
from these arseholes mouths. How and why are these
lowlifes on the air? Worse, why are there people
listening and believing them? Feeble minds are
easily swayed. Lots of Feeble minds it seems.
Whats this World coming to?

rockcast

1. "We are all addicted to some drug" Big Vic stated.
I told him I wasn't to which he replied "You drink coffee?"
Ok now you're just nit pickin' I told him. I'm talking about
the fact this guy goes through more pills than an online
Canadian pharmacy. Well, then you mean they are abusing
pharmacueticals he said. You know what? He's right. This is
what we have become. Addicted is no longer the junkies in
some back alley. It's your best friends Mom. Teens today are
more likely to go through your medicine cabinet than they are
to be getting it on the street. Yeah like Bill Clinton's definition
of sex many people have their own definition of a "druggie".
Many who are down on a guy for having long hair or for
smoking a little weed are pounding the Oxycotin and other
"beans". They get it from their Doctor Feelgoods so it must
be alright. I just shake my head when I see how much some
people I know are taking. Bankers are again abusing their power
and using us for their own survival. After last years major
bailout we as taxpayers are faced with an uncertain future.
Not Surprising once again monsterous bonuses are being
payed out. One nefarious institution is handing out an
average bonus of $600,000.00. A lot of zeros. That figure
of course is the low ball average number. Many employees
received much more. Seven, even eight figures. Then to top
it of the piece of defecation they call the CEO defended his
company bonuses by stating with out these bucks then
he would lose top notch employees. He likened his cronies
to professional atheletes or American movie stars. Yeah
well last time I looked when an athelete or movie star went
broke we as tax payers didn't have to bail them out. These
jerks need to be stopped. What could you possible do to
warrant an eight figure bonus? Then I open my credit card
end of year statement to find because I pay my bill on
time every month no interest was charged, but I was whacked
with a "users fee" of $45. Reward for paying my bills on
time. Dirty Bastitches. Maybe the eight figure bonus guy's
idea, I don't know. I do know I am out $45. for being a
responsible person who pays their bills.

rockcast

1. The sound was
very murky but after a little cleaning it sounds nice.
The song was recorded in October of 1964 and
features Sir George Martin on piano. For instance if you were born on the
second day of January your birthday would be
01022010 [01-02-2010] reads front to back to
front. Or today, 01-11-10. As the set number
indicates today is 011110. Looks like a number
from Alcatraz! Or an invitation to a binary bash.
Personally I have always been linked to the numbers
3 & 4. For instance I am the third in the line of Big
AL's. I am also my parents fourth child and on and on.
My son also is a 3& 4 guy as well as 7. He was born
on 7-7-93. Here in America we just
wrapped up the American college football bowl game
season. since Decmber 19th there has been at least one
game a day. I noticed the featured game of the day was
the GMAC bowl. Sponsored by a company who we as
taxpayers had to pay billions of dollars to keep from
floundering just a few months ago. Should they be using
some of that money to sponsor a football game? That's
the question I asked my friend Rick who informed me he
had read that in the daily fish wrapper local newspaper.
Sure enough an article by an man named Steffi started with
the same question I asked except he opened with the big
championship game which was being sponsored by one
of the banks we bailed out. Actually those scums who have
yet to pay us taxpayers back the billions were sponsoring
several games. They just took the word bank of the title
and called it by the company name. I can understand the
need to advertise to drum up clients but they are targeting
niave college kids for "personal loans". Above and beyond
the student loans most already have. Also the law now
protects them from giving you any information about how
much money your kid has borrowed. I might add at up to
29% interest. I talked with one person who felt they had
an outstanding relationship with their kid. Could talk about
anything. They were shocked to find out their little 17
year old daughter had a credit card bill over $20k. [Personally,
I would notice if my kid came home with twenty thousand
dollars worth of goods.] The point is [and Mr. Steffi's insightful
article points it out better than I] that it is flat out wrong what
these bankers are doing. Nothing is getting turned around and
they are playing us all for suckers. The games bank sponsor
television commercial ask "What's in your wallet?" Obvious
to me, their hands.

rockcast

1. Where he attemps to
blow up the plane he is traveling on. Man don't you
know if you were on that flight you would just want to
beat the crap out of him. I know I would. Goes to show
what I have said all along. We are not really safe. Now
the TSA in a show of stronger security have stopped
and confiscated what one screener called a viable product
that could be used as plastic explosives. The suspect was
released to the custody of ...his Mother. You see he's only
3. The substance in question? Playdoh. I would think a
3 year old white kid from St. Louis Mo. is a terrorist in a
heartbeat. NOT! Come on! Not one of these scum ever
turn out to be a 3 year old white kid from St. Louie. I can
understand if say a college student from Yemen who spends
his summers at camp in Pakistan shows up with a case and
a half of Playdoh and a boarding pass but a 3 year old white
kid from, you know. Seriously for a moment. Amazingly the last Ten years have flown by.
Seems just yesterday we were all preparing for the
worse as geeks around us fabricated the y2k scare.
The first time this decade the media had blown things
out of wack. It wouldn't be the last time as by the end
of the decade they are totally out of control. Blowing
every story out of proportion. I see list every where
of the top songs of the decade. The best this and that.
I guess the only sane fresh thing to do would be to
share a few of my personal mixes I have used over the
last ten years. I figured it would be easy but it turns out
I have done 283 mixes [That I remember] I was really
surprised how awful some sound. You think somebody
would of said " hey that sucked dude." Also some of the
mixes were totally cool. So I grabbed a hand full to fill
50 minutes. Got a favorite mix? Let me know. Turn this
up loud, very loud and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Best wishes for'10.

rockcast

The Big AL Mixes

1. I figured most folk were still asleep
and I was right. Even traffic was light. I got the
last things on my list and now it's wrapping time.
I really have a great time doing this. Not the
Griswold type lighting thang or creepy Bad Santa
but We do it up right. For the first time Rockcast
will be presenting Christmas 2009 Naughty or Nice
sets. You decide which one to give a listen. Or be
adventurous and listen to both. I highly recommend
it. Have plenty of eggnog on hand. Heavy on the nog.
Of course if Christmas is not your cup o tea then
fagettaboutit.
Give a listen to todays set and enjoy it.

rockcast

1. It didn't use to and doesn't any other
day of the week. Well a little on Sundays but
the point is something the newspaper fairies do
different to the paper on Fridays is giving me
sneezing fits. It was so bad this morning that I
had to break down and take a pill. Turned
me into a Zombie. My face was numb for an hour.
I am always fine until I open and start reading the
fish wrapper. Before I can get through one section
I am sneezing. What the hell can they be doing?
I wonder how many others are having this problem.
I am obviously allergic to the stupid crap they call
news. ;-)

rockcast

1. I was attempting to
do a clean mix of the old classic that you can hear in
this set. After I had finished I walked out as he was
waking up and he looked at me and said "Man I had
the strangest dream." He told me about it and added
that for some odd reason Cold As Ice was playing in the
background. Not the whole song, just the piano part.
Oddly enough , I was listening to the playback as I
typed this and the ending is all squirrelly. You rock on
while I investigate.

rockcast in stereo

1. Usually at this time of the
year the neighborhood is lit up. Outrageous light
displays are every where for Christmas. No snow
here so to compensate we light it up. Thanks to the
biblical proportions of rain we have had in the last
week everything is wet. Electricity and water, not
good. Foggy all day so nothing dries out. So it is dark.
That might explain the odd set you are about to hear.
Actually I have it playing as I type and it is a nice little
juant.

rockcast

1.
