The BOSS Set
The Songs of Bruce Springsteen have always been
overlooked due to the over exposure he enjoyed [or
suffered, depending on your view] in the 1980's.
After Born In The USA was released, and MTV got
a hold of it in 1984 nothing was the same for the
E Street Band. Fans who discovered them in the 80's
had no interest in his more artistic albums of the 1970's.
Born to Run is by far one of the finest rock records of
any decade. The Wild The Innocent and the E Street
Shuffle released in 1973 in an incredible record of
vivid story telling along with outstanding musicianship.
So if you are one to scoff at the mention of Springsteen,
hold on for about 40 minutes and give the songs a
chance. As performed by some of my favorite Artist.
The set like the bands show is a long one. Enjoy it
LOUD.
1. Mystic Knights Of The Sea - Johnny 99
2. Cowboy Mouth - Born To Run
3. Joe d'Urso & Stone Caravan - Badlands
4. John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band - E Street Shuffle
5. Graham Parker - Pink Cadillac
6. Ava Cherry & The Astronettes - Spirits In The Night
7. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band - Rosalita [Come Out Tonight]

Great songs man. Nice covers.
Dear Big AL,
awesome set. Why do I suddenly feel like buying a coffee colored Cadillac and head for whatever may come? Some intellectual at a party once said something incredibly witty about Mr. S being a body-building dimwit. I took a can of room refresher and dusted me. He wanted to know what that was for and I answered idiot-repellant.
Sometimes at night I scribble some artists or songs on some paper lying around for the suggestion box. Yesterday I wanted to suggest Edgar Winter because of the Allstars I found on YouTube. Also on the list were the Raveonettes and Boo Boo Davis aka the real thing. And I intended to propose a Springsteen special. Imagine my surprise.
Thank you for the info about the Satellites. And that you found another version of Pink Cadillac, not the notorious Natalie Cole.
And there was more good stuff. Rockin' Bonnie & The Rot Gut Shots is soo cool and Animal Kingdom is soo Coldplay. But I like it. Mother Love Bone - Holy Roller was funky, but the John Mayer - Who Says? I liked best. Now where is that Eagle-Eye Cherry record?
The Morrison/Doors/Infected Mushroom/Big AL set is a dangerous thing. I listened to it at night on the bus. Pouring rain, perfect movie. Had to walk three stops back.
It's getting harder but I tried to find some songs. First one perfect schmaltz Icehouse - Heroes from 2004. Simply beautiful. Second up Siobhan Lynch - Stayin' Alive. Soundtrack, Electropop from 1996. Sounds best at a level the neibores will hate you for. And Dave Alvin - Highway 61 Revisited 2005. Awesome stereo work aand what a voice!
Thank you for the music and Rock on
Dino
