Rockcast Friday.10.23.09a; Mystic Knights Of The Sea, Cowboy Mouth, Joe d'Urso & Stone Caravan, John Cafferty & Beaver Brown Band, manfred Mann's earth Band, Graham Parker, Ava Cherry & The Astronettes, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band

The BOSS Set
The Songs of Bruce Springsteen have always been
overlooked due to the over exposure he enjoyed [or
suffered, depending on your view] in the 1980's.
After Born In The USA was released, and MTV got
a hold of it in 1984 nothing was the same for the
E Street Band. Fans who discovered them in the 80's
had no interest in his more artistic albums of the 1970's.
Born to Run is by far one of the finest rock records of
any decade. The Wild The Innocent and the E Street
Shuffle released in 1973 in an incredible record of
vivid story telling along with outstanding musicianship.
So if you are one to scoff at the mention of Springsteen,
hold on for about 40 minutes and give the songs a
chance. As performed by some of my favorite Artist.
The set like the bands show is a long one. Enjoy it
LOUD.

Rockcast Wednesday.10.21.09a; Foreigner, Los Lonely Boys, Rockin' Bonnie & The Rot Gut Shots, Animal Kingdom, Terry Reid, REO Speedwagon, Edgar Winter, Raveonettes, Boo Boo Davis

I remember when I was a kid I always could
find something better to do than homework.
I figured I had the time to get it in. Most of the
time when I did this I did not get it done. What
I did do was come up with every excuse in the
world you could think of. My personal favorites
include it being washed away in a flash flood and
being unable to do it because I had been kidnapped
by Religious Deprogrammers. (A popular approach
by some in the 1970's. They would have their kids
snatched because the kids didn't have the same views.)
Meanwhile back on point, homework excuses. I
know them all so I have to almost chuckle when my
12 yr old gives me the same lame excuses. You know
it always sounds better in your head but when you put it
out there, totally unbelieveable. So I have to play that
Dad card and put my foot down. Of course kids think
We don't understand and are just freakin' stoopid.
When I was 17 my Father was the dumbest man I knew.
Funny though over the years he has gotten smarter. ;-)
