On my way home today I passed three brand name
gas stations. Two of them had gas for the same price.
The one station situated in the middle of the distance
between the other two had gas for 10 cents more a
gallon. Stuck in traffic and really thirsty I pulled in to
get a drink. I grabbed a buck and a half bottle of
water and headed for the check out. Behind the glass
was a Middle Eastern looking gentleman. I asked him
why his gas was 10 cents more than the other same name
brand stations with in a mile in each direction of him.
He smiled and said if I used his credit card I could save
an additional 7 cents per gallon. I asked if it was only
good at his station or at others of the same brand name.
He smiled and said yes it would be honored at any one
of many. I than said "well that makes their gas 17 cents
cheaper a gallon." He went ballistic. Told me to get the hell
out of his station and buy my gas some where else. OK.
and my water too! I went down the road a mile and got
a water for 59 cents.
