City taxes at work; Houston Texas. A couple
here as a gag found a life size red plastic fire hydrant
which they placed in their garden near their home.
A city crew was out putting fresh paint on hydrants.
Making sure they were blue with white tops as all
residential hydrants are. So it was a natural the red
plastic one in the garden was also painted blue with a
white top. Not only that but it was given a number and
registered as a working hydrant. It was even given one
of those little blue reflectors placed in the middle of the
street so fire trucks can find the hydrants after dark.
Oddly enough it weighs only a few pounds and is easily
knocked over. It had to of moved when they painted it.
Or when the sticker crew came along. Some one had
to of noticed it was not connected to anything. Nobody
did. Amazing.

Standing in line at the self check out for about
10 minutes when I notice the lady at one of the
four registers has all her stuff on the belt but is
not checking out. instead she is on the phone
requesting to check her e-mail in a loud voice.
I turned around in disgust to see a line of folk
behind me. I said I hope you were not in a hurry
to the man directly behind me and the woman who
is behind him says if she was checking out she sure
would not be on the phone, [in a louder voice]. I
chuckled and said "No, really how do you feel about it?"
Just then the woman went off on the phone lady who
by now was yelling at the other woman. Ooops. I grabbed
my stuff and got out of the middle of that in a hurry. I can
be such an instigator some times.
