Rockcast Monday.02.08.10a; Nightwish,The Four Horsemen, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, John Campbell John, Jetboy, Hollywood Rose, Mozely Rose, Boston

So today is the official unofficial hangover day known
in America as "Super Bowl Monday". The traditional
day of recovery after the most important professional
American football game of the season. Turned out to be
the most watched program in the history of television.
Not just sporting events. All TV. The old record holder,
the 1983 final episode of the comedy M.A.S.H. So a
record crowd was tuned in when what is left of the Who
took the stage for the halftime show. What I witnessed
was an awful shame. Obvious to me Roger Daltry did
not feel the need to warm up his voice. His upper register
has been weak for a number of years now and he was
painfully off on the notes. He was reduced to a chesty
shout out. Pete Townsend who is one of the most
influental guitarist of his and My Generation showed an
occasional flurry of licks but for the most part just tried
to do his now famous windmill arm motion. Looks like
the shoulder is kinda creaky these days Pete! After
about five minutes Daltrys voice began to come around.
Gee Roger couldn't take five before the set to get ready?
One critic called the performance "Like having someone
chew your food for you". I assume he was refering to the
fact it took 6 musicians to do what used to be kids play
for 4. Time to hang it up.

I found the Who to be a major disappointment. Pete Townsend's fat belly hanging out of his shirt was enough for me.

That was the Who? WOW! I thought it was a tribute cover band like Beatlemania.

Dear Big AL,

with Rockcast I'm still stuck in January, you're 2 fast 4 me right now. But reading the rant I turned to Youtube for Pete's belly. Hey, we belly-guys care about each other.

Space-age miracle the first thing labeled Who was Five O'Clock Heroes feat. Agyness Deyn. Hey Nigel, forget about Pete's belly and watch her. That's a sight for sore eyes. And the music is cool, too.

So it shows you don't have to look young to be backdated. And it means that if I ever wrote a song it would be named Hendrix Beatle Stone took my Kinks Dylan to Nirvana. No matter what it would be about.

That's why I love the modern times. Put your fist on the keybord, find gnyrtsawx, google it and find that it means Cheers in the Ukraine, is a mountain in Transsylvania or a Punk band from Manchester. My kind of world, marvels at every corner. If I were a Highlander, I could do this for fivehundred years without getting tired of it. Like listening to Rockcast.

Yeah, I know I got to grow up. Gonna do it later, that reminds me - is it time for Spongbob yet?

sorry, it's you can look young and be backdated. How stoopid! Sometime soon I trade the old block of wood for a brain.

Superbowl audiences get what they deserve - The Who were a great band about 400 light years ago but whoever booked them obviously hasn't listened to any music since the first Bachman-Turner Overdrive album. Stupid game anyway; roll on baseball season....
