Rockcast Friday.01.15.10a; Monkees, Frank Marino & Mahogony Rush, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Mano Negra, Steve Earl, The Scruffs, Cross Canadian Ragweed

Talking to my older brother Big Vic the other day about
a person we know who basically, I said is addicted to
drugs. "We are all addicted to some drug" Big Vic stated.
I told him I wasn't to which he replied "You drink coffee?"
Ok now you're just nit pickin' I told him. I'm talking about
the fact this guy goes through more pills than an online
Canadian pharmacy. Well, then you mean they are abusing
pharmacueticals he said. You know what? He's right. This is
what we have become. Addicted is no longer the junkies in
some back alley. It's your best friends Mom. Teens today are
more likely to go through your medicine cabinet than they are
to be getting it on the street. Yeah like Bill Clinton's definition
of sex many people have their own definition of a "druggie".
Many who are down on a guy for having long hair or for
smoking a little weed are pounding the Oxycotin and other
"beans". They get it from their Doctor Feelgoods so it must
be alright. I just shake my head when I see how much some
people I know are taking. Yep you are better than us, go
pop a couple more Seconals.

So here we go again. Bankers are again abusing their power
and using us for their own survival. After last years major
bailout we as taxpayers are faced with an uncertain future.
Not Surprising once again monsterous bonuses are being
payed out. One nefarious institution is handing out an
average bonus of $600,000.00. A lot of zeros. That figure
of course is the low ball average number. Many employees
received much more. Seven, even eight figures. Then to top
it of the piece of defecation they call the CEO defended his
company bonuses by stating with out these bucks then
he would lose top notch employees. He likened his cronies
to professional atheletes or American movie stars. Yeah
well last time I looked when an athelete or movie star went
broke we as tax payers didn't have to bail them out. These
jerks need to be stopped. What could you possible do to
warrant an eight figure bonus? Then I open my credit card
end of year statement to find because I pay my bill on
time every month no interest was charged, but I was whacked
with a "users fee" of $45. Reward for paying my bills on
time. Dirty Bastitches. Maybe the eight figure bonus guy's
idea, I don't know. I do know I am out $45. for being a
responsible person who pays their bills.

Rockcast Tuesday.01.12.10a; Puddle Of Mudd, Elvin Bishop & George Thorogood, Beatles, Ringo Starr, 3 Doors Down, Third Eye Blind, 10cc, Cobra Starship

As I was digging through an old carboard box
of albums I found this old 45 rpm single from
the Beatles. It was inside another copy of George
Harrison's All Things Must Pass. The sound was
very murky but after a little cleaning it sounds nice.
The song was recorded in October of 1964 and
features Sir George Martin on piano. I failed to
mention it during the set. So enjoy...

Rockcast Monday.01.11.10a; Alabama Lovesnakes, Genesis, Z Z Top, Audra Hardt, Electric Light Orchestra, Captain Tractor, Elvis Presley, Reach Around Rodeo Clowns

I'm not a numeraloligist [is that even a word?] but
I have been seeing some interesting dates already
this decade. For instance if you were born on the
second day of January your birthday would be
01022010 [01-02-2010] reads front to back to
front. Or today, 01-11-10. As the set number
indicates today is 011110. Looks like a number
from Alcatraz! Or an invitation to a binary bash.
Personally I have always been linked to the numbers
3 & 4. For instance I am the third in the line of Big
AL's. I am also my parents fourth child and on and on.
My son also is a 3& 4 guy as well as 7. He was born
on 7-7-93. [9+3= 12, divisible by 3 & 4 & 3+4=7]
Interesting to me. The number for today is 9. A very
lucky number and the number of cuts in todays set.
Crank it up.
