Rockcast Friday.02.12.10a; Butch Walker, Lacuna Coil, Cheap Trick, Farmer Dave Scher, Dave Edmunds, Love Sculpture, Jimi Hendrix

So I'm working in the studio when the phone rang.
On the other end is a woman who identifies herself
as a representative of the local newspaper. Calling me
by my first name she ask if I have been receiving my
daily paper. I tell her yes. Shen then calls me by my
first name again and states she sees I have not paid
my bill yet and when can she expect payment. I had
already paid the bill so I asked her since when did the
paper start harrassing the patrons about paying their
bill. She said it wasn't harrassment it was a courtesy
call. I then asked her how this was a courtesy to me.
Her reply was a question. "Sir , when can we expect
payment?" I laughed out loud and told her I was
going to double check to make sure it was payed. I
then thanked her for bringing the matter to my attention.
As I was hanging up I could hear her rattling on about
whatever. It's bad enough the paper is shrinking down
to nothing more than adds for department stores and
furniture. Now this horse drop. Being the only paper
in the fourth largest city in America I guess they figure
they got it dicked. Sell adds then get people to pay
you to see said adds, brilliant. That is not why I have
taken the paper for 3 decades. I can see the major
metropolitan newspaper going the way of the wagon
makers at the turn of the 20th Century. All that will
be left are the little private rags that give fanatics a
platform to push their political ideal upon you. The
ones that always end up as a pile of paper pulp at
the front of my drive way. I never subscribed but for
some reason they keep throwing a copy there every
week. Now a new one has appeared so there is now
2. What a waste of paper. Oh and I checked the bill
has been paid for 2 months. They had cashed the check
a full 7 days before. Bozo is definately driving that clown
car.

Rockcast Wednesday.02.10.10a; Pistoleros, Hot Chip, Anju Ramapriyam, Alvin Stardust, The Bird & The Bee, Queen, Bare Naked Ladies, Starz, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for being
patient as I attempt to upgrade my site and blog. The
support folk have been very supportive except for the
language barrier. We both speak English but you wouldn't
know it by listening to us trying to communicate. I get
caught up in the rhythmic cadence of his sing song delivery
and whatever he is saying goes right by my head. I am
constantly asking him to repeat himself. Of course it
doesn't help when I say things like "Don't butter my boots
and try to tell me they're biscuits." Which is Big AL-ese
for don't B.S. me. So until it is resolved and I have finished
with the artwork I hope it won't be much of a hassle for
you. Should you be having any trouble, I am as usual always
interested. Let me know. Thanks again for stopping by.

Rockcast Monday.02.08.10a; Nightwish,The Four Horsemen, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, John Campbell John, Jetboy, Hollywood Rose, Mozely Rose, Boston

So today is the official unofficial hangover day known
in America as "Super Bowl Monday". The traditional
day of recovery after the most important professional
American football game of the season. Turned out to be
the most watched program in the history of television.
Not just sporting events. All TV. The old record holder,
the 1983 final episode of the comedy M.A.S.H. So a
record crowd was tuned in when what is left of the Who
took the stage for the halftime show. What I witnessed
was an awful shame. Obvious to me Roger Daltry did
not feel the need to warm up his voice. His upper register
has been weak for a number of years now and he was
painfully off on the notes. He was reduced to a chesty
shout out. Pete Townsend who is one of the most
influental guitarist of his and My Generation showed an
occasional flurry of licks but for the most part just tried
to do his now famous windmill arm motion. Looks like
the shoulder is kinda creaky these days Pete! After
about five minutes Daltrys voice began to come around.
Gee Roger couldn't take five before the set to get ready?
One critic called the performance "Like having someone
chew your food for you". I assume he was refering to the
fact it took 6 musicians to do what used to be kids play
for 4. Time to hang it up.
