I was approached today about a performance tax
bill that is up for a vote in Congress. The bill would
basically make radio stations in America pay a tax
everytime they play a song. First problem, they already
pay royalties. Secondly, this tax money would not be
used to improve roads or whatever where you live.
This "tax" money would go straight into the pockets
of record companies in other parts of the world.
Let me repeat that. The money goes over seas. This
would mean many radio stations would go belly up.
The Association of Broadcasters is stating it would
mean the end of the small "Mom & Pop" Stations.
News Flash! These little private operators are already
extinct. Major Domo corporations own all the radio
stations in my home town. The bill was co authored
by a congressman from Michigan with help from a
Vermont C.M. What are these tools thinking? What
lobby got them elected and has them by the cahoonies?
Michigan is on the verge of total meltdown failure and
elected chumps are wasting time on this tripe? You
Michi-maniacs need to wake up and get this clown out
of office. He is suppose to be working for you. How
does this help the unemployed in Michigan? It doesn't.
Now there is a web site you can go to but the trouble
there is all they are doing is collecting your name and
E mail address and selling it to others. So I urge you
to write your congressman and remind him who he works
for and tell him to vote NO on the radio performance tax.
DO NOT go to any radio stations web site that want you
to give up information that they will use for profit. Write,
Congress and stop this crap now. Thank you.
Lets ROCK!
